New alkoxylation vessel

The new alkoxylation reactor is equipped with the latest technology and is used to produce alkoxylates by reacting various raw materials with ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide.

The increase in capacity by 3000 tonnes per year enables the production of larger batches and the development of new product classes. With a reaction volume of 25 m³ and a working range of 20-200 °C and 0 to 8 bar, the vessel is equipped with a pressurised water circuit for heating and cooling, which enables more precise temperature control and avoids hot spots.

For our CEO Marius J. L. Mühlenberg, the investment is an important strategic step: ‘We believe in Germany as a production location - unlike some large chemical groups, we are continuously investing in the expansion of our site at Chempark Leverkusen. The new vessel is an important building block in expanding our competitive advantage as an agile medium-sized company and remaining attractive for our employees and new specialists.’
